PASTOR WILLIE DAVIS

 
 
 REVEREND WILLIE DAVIS, was born March 12, 1997 in Boligee, Alabama to Lila M. Davis and the late Mose Davis, Sr.

Converted at the tender age of seven and professed a call to the ministry in 1967.  Educated in the public schools of Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Parker High School, in Birmingham, Alabama in 1955.  Reverend Davis attended the college of the Rockies School of Theology in Denver, Colorado in 1968-1970; University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming 1970-1972; Union Baptist Theological Seminary, Birmingham, Alabama, 1975; Weber State College, Ogden, Utah 1974-1978.

Pastor Davis was ordained at the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado in 1969.  Reverend Davis pastored the New Zion Baptist Church, Laramie, Wyoming from 1969-1972; and Second Baptist Church, Las Vegas, Nevada from 1978 to present.

Pastor Davis is about to complete 30 years of service as a pastor, leader, organizer, creative thinker and community leader, Reverend Davis proudly fathered three children:  Pastor Darryl Davis, Lisa Fischer, and the late Dawn Davis.  He was married to the late Jeanette Davis until her Demise in 1993.  On March 7, 1998, Pastor Davis was united together in matrimony to Ms. Emma Mundy of Detroit, Michigan.

1969 Pastor organized of New Zion Baptist Church, Laramie Wyoming
1970 Organized a community outreach program with the University of Wyoming
1972 Pastor, New Zion Baptist Church, Ogden, Utah
Developed activities and projects to pay off first mortgage at cost of approx. $70,000
Organized projects to remodel church facility
Organized the first youth choir of 70 voices who became the award-winning Bicentennial choir for the State of Utah
1978 Pastor of Second Baptist Church, Las Vegas, Nevada
1979 Initiated a live radio broadcast of early morning service
Organized the Department of Christian Education
Developed a program for jail ministry
1980 Implemented projects to purchase land and build a parsonage at a cost of $80,000
Developed a successful tape ministry
Initiated and coordinated the first City-wide Simultaneous Revival
1985 Ground-breaking ceremony for construction of a new 1600 capacity sanctuary and education building
1988 Initiated and organized a School of Evangelism
1991 Organized the dedication of the new 1600 capacity sanctuary
1991 Preached in the Upper Room in Jerusalem
1992 Church initiated a tutorial program for elementary and high school students
1993 Organized a Jeanette Davis Evangelism Scholarship Fund
Preached on the Sea of Galilee in Jerusalem
1994 Initiated a Hope Connection Counseling Center, Certified by the State Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse
1998 Started a Television Ministry as part of Sunday Service
